Air China

Air China is operated by Air China Ltd. China National Aviation Holding company, is a wholly owned Government corporation of the People?s Republic of China. Air China has hubs in Beijing, Chengdu, and Shang-Hi, serving 130 destinations in 25 countries with 230 aircraft. In 2007, the airline reported sales of over 7bil.(in US dollars), a one year growth of 22.1%.

In 1984, China?s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) was reorganized into four divisions. Out of this the principal competitors to Air China emerged as Cathay Pacific Airways, China Eastern Airlines Corporation, Ltd. And China Southern Airlines company, Ltd. Air China was a corporate sponsor of the 2008 Summer Olympic games in Beijing. It also played a major role in the distribution of relief supplies following the massive summer Earthquake that struck China shortly before the summer Olympic games.
