Delta Air Lines

From the American Deep South hails the "World's largest carrier", Delta Air Lines.

The company has roots in Huff Daland Dusters, which was formed 30 May, 1924 in Macon, Georgia.Huff Daland became the world's first aerial crop dusting company. Deland, and his company with him, moved to Monroe, Louisiana. On 13 September, 1928, before the Wall Street crash (which would come a year later) C.E. Woolman purchased Huff Deland Dusters and renamed the company Delta Air Service after the Mississippi Delta. Surviving the Great Depression of the 1930's, in 1941 the airline moved from Monroe and set up headquarters in Atlanta. It became clear to many at this point that Mr. Woolman was a visionary.

On 29 October 2008, the United States Justice Department moved to approve the merger of two Aviation industry giants, Detroit based Northwest Airlines and Atlanta's airline, Delta. Delta Air Lines has streamed the air network down to just four (4) hubs- Cincinatti/Northern Kentucky International Airport, in Covington, Kentucky; Hartsfield-Jackson International International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia ; John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, New York; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
