Etihad Airways was established as the National Airline by Royal Decree of the Sultanate of the United Arab Emirates. On 3 July, 2003 an initial capitalisation of AED 500,000,000. was invested by his majesty and commercial air service on Etihad Airways began 5 November, 2003. Abu Dhabi International Airport, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) is the hub of Etihad Airways. The second largest flagship carrier of the UAE, Etihad has a fleet of 44 aircraft, with 166 on order (50 rights to purchase-54 options, including cargo craft). Ethihad Airways's frequent Flyer program is named Ethihad Guest. Ethihad is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization.

This Middle Eastern air carrier serves 50 destinations, and targets Australia with specials to attract residents from The Land Down-Under. Etihad has two subsidiary companies, both complimentary to the airline industry- Etihad Holidays, a travel agency, able to assist in keep passengers on Etihad flights, and Etihad Crystal Cargo to handle freight.
