Air Baltic

Air Baltic made their inaugural flight on 1 October, 1995 and is the national airline and flagship carrier of Latvia. Latvia is a former Soviet Republic located in a region traditionally referred to as the Baltics, and Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are known as the Baltic States.Air Baltic is based at Riga International Airport (RIX), and is headquartered in the City of Riga, the capital of Latvia. 2.7 million passengers flew Air Baltic according to the airlines manifest records. Origination flights are out of Riga, Latvia; Kalinigrad, Russia; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Vilnius, Lithuania.Air Baltic has a fleet of 28 aircraft and serves 53 destinations. Air Baltic introduced e-ticketing 24 March, 2008. In February 2007 opened a reservation center in St. Petersburg, Russia. In June 2007, AirBalticcard mobile, a pre-paid phone card was introduced to boost the airlines marketing campaign.

Baltijas aviacijas sistemas (SIA) is a private financier of Air Baltic, which was established 28 August, 1995. The majority shareholder in the airline is the Latvian State (52.6%).
