Founded in March 1989, by Dr. Chang Yung-Fa, Eva Airways is an affiliate of the shipping conglomerate Evergreen Group, Ltd. EVA Airways, Corp. is a Taipei based organization. The formal name of the airline's parent company is Evergreen International. EVA Airways hub is Taoyuan International Airport, in Taipei.The Evergreen Club is the name of EVA Airways frequent flyer program. The Taiwan Straits air carrier flys a fleet of 53 jets with four (4) on order and services 47 destinations.Eva Airways is traded on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. In 2007, long haul service for EVA Airways was initiated with a Non-stop Taipei To New York (Newark Liberty International) air service. Airline manifest recorded a passenger count of 6.2 million passengers in 2007.
